Repsol has an opening for a Safety & Environment intern within the Unconventional Business Unit, based out of Horseheads, NY. Internship will be based out of our field office in Horseheads, New York, Monday-Friday, 40 hrs./week for 12 weeks. The internship will begin on Monday May 18 and conclude on Friday August 7. (Must be available for the full program period) Interns receive a competitive hourly salary based on the degree in process as of May 2026. Intern activities, Lunch & Learns, and an Intern Project will be organized, to add to your experience and expand your industry knowledge. Requirements

  • Fully authorized to work for any employer in the US without sponsorship now or in the future. Additionally, we are not authorized for employment under OPT/CPT/F1 visa programs.
  • Undergrad (or higher) degree in process, in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Safety preferred. Other disciplines may be considered if closely related.
  • Students with an expected graduation 2027-2028 are encouraged to apply (juniors or sophomores). Masters and Ph.D. students may also be considered.
  • Must have cumulative and major GPA of 3.3 or higher, to be confirmed with transcript (unofficial transcript is acceptable)
  • Must be available for a continuous 12-week period for the duration of the 2026 summer intern program, starting May 18th and ending on August 7th.
  • Preference for candidates with prior internship experience, ideally within oil & gas but not required.
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment, taking initiative as needed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Mechanical, math and science aptitude.
  • Ability to work with data and derive meaningful insights – must have a strong interest in data analysis and business analytics, while applying problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and able to work with accuracy and consistency.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Highly motivated and organized.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and analytical methods.
  • Willingness to ask questions and seek guidance when needed.
  • Position will be supported onsite, M-F, non-exempt (hourly) 40 hrs. per week, at our field office in Horseheads, NY.
  • Non-local candidates may be considered provided they meet the required qualifications as listed above and understand they are responsible for any travel to/from Horseheads and summer housing.
  • Candidates must be available for the duration of the summer intern program beginning on May 18 and through Aug 7.

Responsibilities

  • Support operations by assisting in Safety & Environmental report generation, collection of facility compliance data, testing activities.
  • Exposure to aspects of safety & environmental reporting framework and protocol, metrics and key performance indicators.
  • Occasional travel to field sites, as needed.
  • Conduct other activities, as needed.
