Pay Range: $16.80 - $23.10 All internship positions are designed to give college students an opportunity to apply techniques learned in an academic setting while obtaining new skills. This is a paid internship offering full-time hours during the summer months. All interns are required to conclude the program by giving a formal presentation on their work. Please note that no relocation assistance or sponsorship is provided for the internship program at this time. Pay Rate: $24 per hour Position Summary: The EHS Intern will support the Environment, Health & Safety team in advancing laboratory safety, compliance, Environmental and sustainability initiatives across the site. This role provides hands‑on experience in a life sciences environment, including exposure to biosafety, chemical safety, risk assessments, environmental programs, and data management. The intern will assist with key projects, contribute to safety culture improvements, and deliver a final presentation summarizing their project findings and recommendations to site leadership.

Requirements

  • Must be a currently enrolled student pursuing a graduate-level degree in a field relevant to the internship
  • Must be able to work full-time during the duration of the internship program

Responsibilities

  • Support laboratory safety initiatives, including chemical inventory updates, SDS management, and routine lab safety checks.
  • Develop checklists for routine assessments
  • Assist with environmental programs such as waste minimization, recycling initiatives, and data collection.
  • Conduct observations, basic risk assessments, and assist with developing or updating Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).
  • Help evaluate compliance with biosafety, chemical hygiene, PPE, and emergency preparedness requirements.
  • Develop tools, templates, or visual aids to improve safety communication and employee engagement.
  • Organize and analyze data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with scientists, lab personnel, and cross‑functional partners to gather information and support project tasks.
  • Prepare and deliver an end‑of‑summer presentation summarizing the chosen EHS/ESG project, key findings, and recommended improvements.
