About The Position

SMG seeks a Safety Designer & Commissioner in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible regarding change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in various industrial environments such as Manufacturing, Construction, Utility & Health, and Pharma. Overview of Job Responsibilities: Ensures that design, construction, and commissioning decisions align with client HSE requirements before hazards are built into the asset or transferred to operations.

Requirements

Minimum 10+ years of EHS experience
Experience in safety management programs
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
Effective presentation and communication skills

Nice To Haves

ASP, GSP, or CSP preferred
Pharmaceutical experience preferred

Responsibilities

Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
Manage safety training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and emergency response.
Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to create safe working environments.
Participate in safety committees and task forces to address safety-related issues and improve safety practices.
Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations, such as OSHA guidelines.
Provide input to safety-related projects and initiatives to enhance workplace safety.
Maintain records and documentation of safety activities and compliance measures.
