About The Position

SMG seeks a Safety Designer & Commissioner in Kenosha, Wisconsin. The key function is to put safety at the forefront of their job, prioritize the client’s needs, work well in a team setting, be self-managed, and be flexible regarding change and travel. The Associate in this role will work in various industrial environments such as Manufacturing, Construction, Utility & Health, and Pharma. Overview of Job Responsibilities: Ensures that design, construction, and commissioning decisions align with client HSE requirements before hazards are built into the asset or transferred to operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10+ years of EHS experience
  • Experience in safety management programs
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams
  • Effective presentation and communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • ASP, GSP, or CSP preferred
  • Pharmaceutical experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards in the workplace.
  • Develop and implement safety protocols to ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations.
  • Manage safety training programs to educate employees on safety procedures and emergency response.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to create safe working environments.
  • Participate in safety committees and task forces to address safety-related issues and improve safety practices.
  • Ensure adherence to safety standards and regulations, such as OSHA guidelines.
  • Provide input to safety-related projects and initiatives to enhance workplace safety.
  • Maintain records and documentation of safety activities and compliance measures.
  • Ensures that design, construction, and commissioning decisions align with client HSE requirements before hazards are built into the asset or transferred to operations.
