About The Position

As the Safety Coordinator, you will support and maintain a strong health and safety performance culture. This role contributes to a wide range of safety projects, ensures best practices are implemented, affirms that safety compliance requirements are met, demonstrates a personal commitment to safety excellence, and helps create a safe and healthy workplace. $5,000 Sign-on Bonus eligible for New Hires.

Requirements

High School diploma required; Bachelor’s degree in a safety and health or science-related discipline preferred.
Practical knowledge of OSHA 1910 and related local safety and health regulations.
At least three years of safety experience in the operations and maintenance of a heavy industrial environment.
Willing to work evenings and weekends on a non-routine basis, when required, to support facility operations.
Articulate communicator with excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
Organized, team player who is an effective influencer.
Proficient with Microsoft applications that include Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to walk, stand, sit, and climb ladders.
Ability to lift/carry 50lbs.
Ability to work from heights and in confined spaces.
Qualify to wear a full-face respirator.
Consistently work in various weather conditions.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

Provide an active role in the management of the facility’s safety and health programs; motivate, educate, and model Reworld’s safety and health policies.
Conduct safety observations, audits, and reports, and follow up on outstanding matters, to support continuous improvement in safety, and help ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and conformance to company standards.
Educate employees on safety standards and expectations, including safe machine and equipment operations, and the administration of on-site certification for various mobile equipment.
Perform safety training for new hires, conduct contractor safety briefings, maintain, and coordinate external vendor training as needed.
Prepare and deliver monthly safety-related training to multiple departments.
Manage contractor safety and health performance with facility management; ensure contractors are properly trained, use appropriate tools and equipment, and protect all employees from injury.
Provide support and guidance to the local Safety Committee to ensure effectiveness.
Coordinate and schedule annual medical surveillance exams, annual respirator fit testing, industrial hygiene sampling, and annual emergency drills.
Support the investigation of on-site incidents, identify possible causes, and support the implementation of effective corrective actions.
Assist with preparing regulatory reports, including OSHA’s Voluntary Protection Program annual report, where applicable.
Maintain documentation of the Company’s safety procedures, incidents, tailgate meetings, and other related administrative requirements and events.
Assist with submissions of information into the Ideagen software system
