About Us: Iron Fabrication Services (IFS) is a leading fabricator and supplier of all types of steel used in many major construction projects such as large scale commercial and residential buildings. IFS is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety Coordinator to join our team. This role requires strong knowledge of Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, and Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards. Job Summary: The Safety Coordinator will support the Safety Manager in ensuring a safe and compliant work environment. The Safety Coordinator will play a crucial role in enforcing safety policies and procedures, conducting inspections and audits, providing training programs, and investigating incidents to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of safety experience in a construction environment
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and EHS regulations, especially related to construction and steel erection
  • OSHA 30 certification (strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities to implement and reinforce safety standards effectively
  • Strong incident investigation and report writing skills
  • Frequent driving to job sites is required, approximately 60%-80.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at times.
  • Ability to travel throughout facility and on job sites conduct safety inspections.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, craw, bend, squat, climb and work in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Implement and enforce safety policies in alignment with Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) standards and Environment Health and Safety (EHS) regulations.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly job site safety inspections across multiple active projects
  • Lead accident and near-miss investigations, including documenting findings and recommending corrective/preventative actions
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety meetings, and ongoing training for field crews, shop employees, and office staff
  • Ensure proper use, maintenance, and availability of PPE (hard hats, harnesses, gloves, etc.)
  • Track and maintain OSHA logs, incident reports, and safety documentation
  • Provide regular updates and safety reports to the Safety Manager
  • Conduct new hire safety orientations for office and field staff
