About The Position

The Safety Coordinator is responsible for supporting COF’s compliance with government regulations and industry standards and, as it relates to employee onboarding, providing administrative support the HR department. As part of employee onboarding, the Safety Coordinator takes a lead role in COF’s new employee Learning Management System (LMS) and safety centric educational instruction. The Safety Coordinator merges applicable Safety and HR practices and promote a positive safety culture through course of action and helps coordinate day to day activities and programs. Assists HR with the onboarding process and conducts new employee orientations Ensure COF Safety Policies and Procedures are being followed and support, when needed, OSHA and EPA compliance Conduct work observations, hazard assessments, and employee workplace inspections Participate in Weekly Tailgate meetings and Monthly Safety Committee meetings Be able to review and interpret company and industry policies and procedures Assist in conducting emergency drills and plans Manage LMS account creation and support training schedule for employees, perform company data entry and account maintenance, and assign trainings Utilize and promote LMS and other technology to promote learning, creativity, and employee collaboration Support First Aid CPR AED training Provide instruction and activities in the areas of operations, construction, safety, and best practices. Support the design, development, implementation, and control of employee training and competency programs Track training and monitor compliance for all employees in COF E-chart or other centralized location as required Build informative reports as required by Cust-O-Fab leadership Ensure training facilities, equipment, materials, and records are maintained Working closely with front line supervision, encourage behavior that promotes employee character and professional development.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma required or Equivalent (G.E.D), associate degree preferred
  • Completion of OSHA 30-hour General Industry Training Course preferred
  • 1-3 years of safety related instruction / experience preferred
  • Must maintain strict and absolute confidentiality of applicants, programs, employees, and other department data and sensitive information.
  • Ability to follow simple and complex oral and written instructions with the ability to read, interpret, and present information efficiently and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills, efficiency and excellent attention to detail with a demonstrated commitment to completing assignments on a timely basis.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs especially PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to communicate with employees at all levels
  • Must be able to sit and work at a computer for long periods of time; walk, bend, stoop, and lift 20 pounds.
