Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a safety, compliance, transportation, or aviation-related role.
  • All airport-related positions require applicants to successfully complete the mandatory airport security clearance process for their assigned location. This includes meeting all TSA and U.S. Customs requirements, as outlined in 49 CFR §1542.209, and obtaining the appropriate airport-issued identification badge (e.g., SIDA, AOA, or equivalent), in accordance with local airport authority regulations.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with excellent communication and team-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of fleet management, operational sequencing, and ramp safety principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant compliance and reporting systems.
  • Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.
  • High attention to detail with a strong commitment to customer service and safety excellence.
  • Ability to quickly assess and resolve transportation or safety deficiencies.
  • Solution-oriented mindset with effective decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, regulated environment.
  • Hands-on operational approach to ensure flights are dispatched safely and on time.
  • Ability to work long hours on foot and in environments with varying temperatures.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts (including nights, weekends, and holidays) based on business needs.

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and supervise day-to-day pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, fueling procedures, and incident/accident reporting in compliance with aviation and government safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular field inspections and observations of driver activities both on-airport and off-airport to ensure adherence to ramp safety standards and operating procedures.
  • Prepare for, participate in, and support customer ramp safety audits and other internal and external regulatory audits.
  • Schedule, lead, and manage the ramp safety team to ensure continuous coverage, operational readiness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain documented training programs, manuals, and standard operating procedures for all company vehicle drivers.
  • Oversee new-hire Ramp Safety and DR1 training programs to ensure alignment with aviation, airport authority, and government regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct new-hire competency validations prior to authorizing solo ramp operations.
  • Provide ongoing field coaching, observations, and refresher training to reinforce safe driving practices, increase safety awareness, and ensure sustained compliance.
  • Identify areas for improvement and recommend methods to enhance overall safety performance while reducing costs associated with preventable incidents, negligence, and improper vehicle handling.
  • Administer and manage all vehicle accident-related documentation and reporting.
  • Coordinate closely with Accounting, Controlling, and Senior Management to ensure accurate tracking, accountability, and timely resolution of incidents.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant workplace at all times.
  • Ensure implementation and enforcement of safety rules, policies, and regulations.
  • Communicate safety and compliance information across departments.
  • Prepare and review reports related to safety, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.
