About The Position
The Safety Assistant is responsible for coordinating and facilitating all safety needs for Giltner Transportation. This role supports the safety department’s daily operations, ensures DOT compliance, and contributes to proactive risk mitigation

- Must be able to complete accurate documentation and reports
Nice To Haves
- Strong computer proficiency; familiarity with telematics, TMS, or compliance systems is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones and assist with general safety-related inquiries
- Participate in trainings, follow safety procedures, and company policies
- Conduct basic facility maintenance and cleanings
- Coordinate with operations to ensure alignment with safety practices
- Provide excellent internal and external customer service
- Monitor and analyze safety trends to support proactive coaching
- Review SmartDrive & Samsara telematics alerts
- Handle driver qualification files, MVRs, and DOT compliance documentation
