About The Position

Ensure the safety and security of Leadership Prep School campuses, facilities, students, staff, and visitors. Coordinate emergency preparedness, law enforcement response, and safety initiatives. Serve as a certified School Marshal and lead efforts in security operations, emergency planning, and safety education.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Knowledge of emergency operations planning, NIMS, FEMA, and applicable safety law
  • Familiarity with criminal investigations, law enforcement procedures, and report writing
  • Proficiency in security-related technology (e.g., surveillance systems, access control, mass notification)
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and public relations skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication, including policy and report drafting
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and respond effectively under pressure
  • Exceptional judgment, work ethic, and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred)
  • Coursework or certification in public safety, emergency management, school safety, or related fields (preferred)
  • 3–5 years in safety, security, or law enforcement (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and direct the daily safety and security operations across all LPS campuses
  • Ensure LPS campuses are 100% compliant with the TXSSC requirements
  • Be the point of contact and district lead for the Texas Education Agency’s Sentinel data application.
  • Organize and Lead District Behavioral Threat Assessments (BTA), District Vulnerability Assessments (DVA), and Intruder Detection Audits (IDA) as required by TXSSC.
  • Attend all required TXSSC trainings and train administrators to implement all relevant safety requirements and protocols
  • Respond to emergencies and coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency responders
  • Monitor and report safety hazards, breaches, and irregularities
  • Monitor district surveillance systems and provide campuses with pertinent information
  • Conduct internal investigations and prepare incident reports
  • Implement and evaluate security systems and protocols
  • Develop and implement preventative safety programs and drills
  • Conduct and support mandated safety audits and emergency preparedness exercises
  • Work in partnership with local LEA and local school districts to ensure EOP procedures are ready to be implemented.
  • Administration of the campus Raptor system.
  • Respond and organize all emergency operations support in conjunction with campus LEA/SRO and campus administrators.
  • Conduct and record weekly door audits at each campus
  • Maintain and supervise access control and key inventory systems logs for each campus
  • Attend required professional development and applicable training
  • Stay current with Texas laws, emergency planning practices, and safety technologies
  • Present safety-related curriculum to students, staff, and parents
  • Coordinate strategic planning, budgeting, and resource allocation for safety initiatives
  • Maintain records, reports, and documentation in compliance with state and federal laws
  • Lead or participate in district safety committees and stakeholder meetings
  • Maintain confidentiality and uphold ethical standards
