About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes' (BCA) Flight Sciences is seeking a Safety and Airworthiness Senior Engineering Manager (Level L) to lead our team in ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance, and airworthiness. This position is based in Everett, WA. In this critical leadership role, you will oversee the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of flight sciences safety processes, working closely with cross-functional teams including design, certification, and operations. Your expertise will drive the integration of safety principles into all phases of aircraft development and lifecycle management, ensuring regulatory compliance and advancing our commitment to delivering safe, reliable, and innovative commercial aircraft to the global market.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry.
  • 5+ years of experience in Flight Sciences.
  • 2+ years of experience as a manager leading an engineering team.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience communicating, collaborating, and building consensus with internal and external stakeholders.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Safety and Airworthiness (SAW) activities.
  • Experience and familiarity with ODA, FAA and EASA processes and procedures.
  • Proactively and quickly makes sense of complex issues; responds effectively to complex and ambiguous situations; communicates complicated information simply.
  • Experience with Boeing design, development and certification processes.
  • Experience leading through influence and partnering with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience providing proactive leadership in a dynamic/ambiguous environment to drive technical excellence.
  • Ability to build an environment of inclusion, transparency and trust.

Responsibilities

  • Leads, develops, and motivates employees performing engineering and technical activities across the Flight Sciences disciplines.
  • Creates a collaborative environment for a cross functional team without direct authority.
  • Ensures performance by developing and executing integrated plans, managing risks, and implementing policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates and promotes collaboration and sharing of knowledge and best practices.
  • Advocates for the needs of Flight Sciences.
  • Establishes relationships and acts as the interface with Development Program Engineering (DPE) and their leadership.
