About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for an Experienced (Level 3) or Senior (Level 4) Airworthiness Engineer to join our team in Berkeley, MO. This position will apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead the full range of activities required to support Airworthiness/Flight Certification of various aircraft and external stores for USAF (United States Air Force)/USN (United States Navy)/Phantom Works/DOD (Department of Defense) programs. Primary responsibilities: Evaluates customer and /operational needs to define and coordinate system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces Project management, consultation, and influencing without authority. Develops the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes Maintains situational awareness of the overall program and critical path sequencing Proactively communicates with various leadership team/s, peers and customers Oversees reviews of regulatory and customer requirements and evaluation of impact to company products and services Leads the review of highly complex regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements Oversees development of a compliance statement for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products. Identifies, analyzes, and assesses regulatory and contractual compliance of aerospace systems, products and services. Collaborates with internal and external stakeholders to define, validate, and integrate airworthiness and regulatory compliance requirements; incorporates into designs, operations, and procedures. Reviews regulatory and customer requirements and evaluates impact to company products and services. Analyzes regulatory and certification technical data for completeness and alignment to applicable regulatory and contractual requirements. Develops compliance statements for the airworthiness of aerospace systems and products. Researches, investigates and monitors compliance processes or reported in-service fleet issues for achieving regulatory compliance and assists with implementing process improvements or correction actions. Supports engaging with regulators on moderately- complex programs or initiatives to shape certification approaches, activities, and artifacts. Supports partnering with regulatory authorities to complete validation of airworthiness to applicable requirements as authorized. Provides technical support, training, tools and resources to the delegated approval organization. Develops, reviews, and maintains compliance reports and documents in accordance with applicable requirements and regulations. Establishes and promotes global regulatory advocacy trainings, tools, and methods.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • Level 3: 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Level 4: 9+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to communicate concisely in text, with metrics, verbally, one-on-one, in small groups, and to large audiences.
  • Experience with regulatory agencies' procedures and process
  • This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
