The Opportunity: Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (“SEL”) seeks professional, innovative and detailed individuals for our RTL/FPGA Hardware Engineer position located at our headquarters in Pullman, Washington. RTL/FPGA Hardware Engineer (Multiple Openings) Responsibilities: The RTL/FPGA Hardware Engineer develops the product specifications, designs, implements, and documents programmable logic designs required for hardware product development of SEL software and firmware products. The incumbent will apply the principles of electrical and computer engineering and: (1) engage in FPGA design, simulation, and verification with VHDL; (2) analyze, design, and develop digital circuits to meet specifications; (3) demonstrate and document product and circuit robustness using computer simulations, conventional analysis, and standard testing methodologies; (4) ensure that designs meet applicable regulatory requirements; (5) write and review test plans, conduct design tests, and evaluate test results; (6) prepare and maintain product documentation, including data sheets, instruction manuals, and design and test documentation; (7) provide and maintain accurate product material cost estimates, labor estimates and project plans; (8) participate in industry technical meetings and conferences as required to meet operational and strategic goals; and (9) undertake to improve SEL’s research and development processes.
