The Field Staff Lead supports Rebuilding Together Acadiana (RTA) by working directly with homeowners, volunteers, and community partners to complete critical home repairs. This position plays a key role in ensuring clients have safe, healthy homes. Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED
  • A valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • The ability to effectively and professionally represent the organization in the community and with clients, volunteers, community partners and other staff members.
  • The ability to complete work while being supervised remotely
  • The ability to follow instructions accurately and meet essential deadlines
  • A general understanding of building science, with capacity and interest to learn
  • A flexible and adaptive style with the ability to thrive in change in both projects and partnerships simultaneously.
  • The ability to work independently as well as a part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with common technologies and digital tools, with a solid understanding of how to navigate and adapt to new platforms or software as needed.
  • Very Heavy work involves exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects, Physical demand requirements are in excess of those for Heavy Work.
  • Candidates must also be capable of spending full workdays on a project site.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate data entry forms, work logs, time sheets, site assessments, and project documentation
  • Communicate project updates through the established chain of command as directed by the Division Director of Rebuilding Together
  • Perform basic carpentry and hands-on home repairs independently and as part of a team
  • Common repairs include framing, subflooring, flooring, interior and exterior trim, decks, ramps, siding, doors, windows, and punch work
  • Procure building materials for assigned projects
  • Provide site and task leadership during volunteer project days
  • Organize and manage the completion of multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate daily assignments and work priorities with the Division Director
  • Manage job site cleanup and debris removal
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment, including trucks, trailers, and tractors
  • Maintain organizational tools and equipment, including adherence to maintenance schedules
  • Perform basic inventory duties for the warehouse and departmental vehicles
  • Ensure vehicles are properly maintained, fueled, and clean
  • Respond to emergency situations as directed by the Department Director
  • Perform all other duties as assigned
