About The Position

The ROW Land Agent position is for sharp, curious, and driven self-starters seeking an alternative to a mundane office job. The role requires tenacious, outgoing, and extroverted individuals with good communication, listening, and patience skills. Strong time management and organizational abilities are essential, along with a detail-oriented approach. The agent will be involved in all aspects of right-of-way, including acquisition, title, permitting, due diligence, and public/community outreach. The work involves direct collaboration with the Right-of-Way Lead or Supervisor, operating under tight deadlines, and utilizing analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. The role also includes identifying property ownership, determining valuations, obtaining survey permissions, preparing acquisition documents, negotiating property rights, settling damage claims, acquiring licenses and permits, reviewing project progress, providing construction support, appraisal negotiation, and relocation assistance. Extensive contact with the public is typical, and work is performed in all types of weather conditions, potentially involving walking over rough and hilly terrain.

  • Right of way: 3 years
  • Maintain a valid driver's license
  • May be required to submit to a drug screening test and background check

Responsibilities

  • Working directly under the direction of the Right-of-Way Lead or Supervisor.

  • Obtaining permission from property owners for various types of surveys.
  • Preparing documents necessary for acquisition of property rights.
  • Negotiating acquisition of property rights.
  • Settling damage claims.
  • Acquiring the necessary licensing and permits.
  • Reviewing progress of projects.
  • Construction support liaison responsibilities.
