About The Position

GY Properties is seeking a Roving Maintenance Technician to support our Maryland portfolio, with properties located in Glen Burnie and Pikesville, MD. This role will rotate between apartment communities as business needs require and will be responsible to work with the property's full time team with the general maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness of apartment buildings across locations. The ideal candidate is professional, self-motivated, and able to work independently while adhering to all health and safety guidelines. This position involves hands-on maintenance work including painting, cleaning, basic plumbing, minor electrical repairs, and general upkeep. Experience using a wide range of tools and a solid understanding of basic maintenance systems is required. Prior experience as a maintenance technician or carpenter, as well as knowledge of HVAC systems, is required.

Nice To Haves

  • 23 years of experience in apartment or multifamily maintenance
  • HVAC certification or certification in building maintenance technology or a related field

Responsibilities

  • Float between Maryland properties (Glen Burnie and Pikesville) to support maintenance needs as assigned. Location may vary day-to-day, or month-to-month, according to the business needs.
  • Maintain property appearance and functionality through routine cleaning and upkeep
  • Perform minor electrical maintenance (e.g., replacing light bulbs and sockets, maintaining breaker panels)
  • Assist with ventilation, refrigeration, and other building systems and perform repairs when necessary
  • Inspect fire and security alarm systems and coordinate repairs as needed
  • Perform basic pest control activities, such as applying insecticides
  • Conduct general upkeep tasks including landscaping, painting, carpentry, and other assigned duties
  • Inspect buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure compliance with health and safety standards
  • Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies in a timely and professional manner
  • Complete unit turns
  • Perform other duties as assigned
