About The Position

Room Attendant theWit Hotel – a Hilton property | Chicago, IL The Room Attendant plays a key role in delivering theWit’s guest experience by ensuring guest rooms and suites are impeccably clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully prepared for each arrival. This position upholds brand standards for cleanliness, safety, and presentation while responding to guest needs in a friendly, efficient, and professional manner.

Requirements

  • Prior hotel or residential housekeeping/room attendant experience preferred; luxury or boutique hotel experience a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail and high standards of cleanliness.
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • Basic English communication skills to understand instructions, safety information, and respond to guest needs.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, based on business needs.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, push, and pull for the majority of the shift.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to approximately 25–30 pounds (e.g., linen bags, supply carts, vacuum).
  • Frequent reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching to clean low and high areas.
  • Ability to work with cleaning chemicals safely and use required personal protective equipment as directed.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms and suites daily, following theWit and Hilton brand standards and room checklists.
  • Make beds, change linens, replace towels and terry, and ensure correct par levels and placement of amenities and collateral.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, tubs/showers, sinks, mirrors, fixtures, and floors, ensuring a hygienic and odor-free environment.
  • Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and surfaces; vacuum carpets and rugs; sweep and mop hard floors.
  • Replenish guestroom supplies such as bath amenities, tissues, toilet paper, glassware, coffee/tea, and in-room collateral according to standard.
  • Remove trash, soiled linen, room service items, and lost-and-found articles from guest rooms and hallways, handling items per hotel policy.
  • Inspect room condition, furnishings, fixtures, and equipment and promptly report maintenance, safety, or security issues to leadership.
  • Ensure all assigned rooms are “guest-ready” by the end of the shift, meeting productivity and quality targets set by the department.
  • Respond to guest requests and inquiries with courteous, timely, and solution-focused service, escalating concerns to a supervisor when needed.
  • Respect guest privacy and security, following key control procedures and “Do Not Disturb” / “Make Up Room” guidelines at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of housekeeping carts, closets, and service areas.
  • Follow all safety, security, and chemical-handling procedures in compliance with OSHA, brand, and hotel policies.
