The Mechanical Maintenance position is primarily responsible for millwright work including performing preventative maintenance on plant equipment, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing damaged or worn equipment, and rebuilding spare parts.

Requirements

  • Two years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow drawings
  • Extensive experience in welding (plate and pipe) and oxy fuel cutting
  • Experience in safe rigging practices
  • Ability to follow all operating and safety policies and procedures
  • Microsoft Office suite computer skills
  • Ability to be trained and certified to operate man lifts, forklifts and overhead cranes
  • Must be able to work in contact with greases, petroleum base oils, and cleansing agents
  • High school Diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • 5-10 years’ experience in equipment mechanical machinery maintenance in the metals industry
  • Trade school preferred with a focus on mechanical maintenance and welding

Responsibilities

  • Perform the essential functions of a millwright with extensive welding applications
  • Perform maintenance engineering functions and repairs for all plant mechanical equipment including conveyor roll tables, high-pressure water descale systems, hydraulically actuated equipment, large rotating and rolling equipment, water cooling systems, shears, and material handling equipment
  • Perform structural repairs to buildings, platforms, machinery, utility piping and structures, at times in elevated positions
  • Level and align equipment
  • Install modifications to existing equipment
  • Assist in the development of solutions to operating problems and improvements to processes
  • Under the direction of the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, lead contractors during outages
