About The Position

Responsible for evaluating a driver to determine if they are able to safely use a motor vehicle and follow the associated laws and regulations. The most essential skill is attitude and includes the following: positive interaction & cooperation with co-workers, responding politely to customers, working as a team member, function under intense time pressure and responding in a positive manner to supervision. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Note: May perform other related duties and task, as required. Greets the public in a friendly manner. Inspects safety features of the customer’s vehicle. Verifies customers insurance, registration and tag are current and valid prior to the road test. Provides clear and concise instructions to the customer for full understanding of maneuvers. Demonstrate a willingness to work in alternate locations as driven by business needs. Conduct road tests to observe customer’s driving using established driving course routes. Verifies customers’ compliance with the traffic safety rules. Add proper restrictions to customer’s license at the conclusion of the road test. Rates customers on each maneuver during road test exam. Advises customer of pass, fail or disqualification. Job Requirements and Qualifications: Education and Experience Requirements: Requires a high school diploma or general education degree and one year customer service experience. Must be 21 years of age or older and hold a current Florida Driver License. Must meet the TCPC’s driving record requirements. Applicants must not have: Accumulated seven (7) or more points in a twelve (12) month period. Accumulated ten (10) or more points in an eighteen (18) month period. Accumulated thirteen (13) or more points in a thirty-six (36) month period. Accumulated violations or convictions that indicate their Florida or out-of-state driver license is/was suspended or revoked during the five (5) years prior to the conditional offer date of hire for points, moving violations, DUI, refusal to submit to drug or alcohol testing, failure to comply with traffic-related summons or court orders, or criminal offenses. Accumulated the status of habitual violator of traffic laws during the five (5) years prior to the conditional offer date of hire. Been convicted of DUI in the last three (3) years, and no more than once in the past seven (7) years, and must not have a history of multiple arrests for DUI, regardless of conviction. Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must have a valid Florida driver license or be able to obtain one at the time of employment. Skills and Knowledge: Read and interpret correspondence. Effectively communicate procedures, regulations and instructions in a written and oral format. Basic mathematical skills. Working knowledge of Outlook. Must display a positive and helpful attitude. Must be highly dependable. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and schedule form. Working Conditions: Work in a climate controlled environment and in outdoor weather conditions with potential for exposure to adverse conditions, such as dirt, dust, pollen, odors, fumes, and/or poor ventilation, wetness, humidity, rain, temperature and noise extremes, machinery and/or moving vehicles. Outdoor work will be conducted in customer vehicles. Physical Demands: Lift up to 25 pounds. Stand, walk, sit, stoop or kneel. Manual dexterity. Hear at normal level or with accommodation.
