About The Position

Road Supervisor - Nantucket, MA Knowledge and Experience: High School diploma or equivalent Valid Massachusetts Commercial Driver’s License (CDL, with passenger endorsement & air brake endorsements) Acceptable driving record At minimum of 2 years of experience required as a full-time operator Knowledge of project specific vehicles, components, and data/communications systems Knowledge of State and Federal regulations and corporate safety programs and policies Strong customer service attitude Ability to read, write and speak English Ability to communicate effectively and work with all departments Ability to work independently and objectively Intermediate knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office Suite CPR, AED and First Aid Certification (Provided by the Company) Skills: Excellent planning and leadership abilities Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Must be detail oriented Self-motivated Ability to de-escalate situations/ incidents with passengers, employees, and general public Ability to make decisions, manage change and time Strong analytical and reporting skills Transportation Dispatching Software knowledge desired Key Accountabilities: Road Supervisor Collaborates directly with the Operations Manager and senior location leadership to ensure smooth vehicle operations. Field Supervisors are to provide direct oversight of vehicle operators on the street, ensures compliance with on time performance, customer service, safety standards. Provides follow-up on customer concerns. Must be willing to have flexibility with schedule and/or work split shifts, weekends, and holidays. Initiate corrective action as needed with the ability to remove Operators from service. Ensure that all operators are fit for duty, meet uniform and equipment standards and are in possession of proper licensing and certifications. Conducts a set quota of Operator 1 on 1 touchpoints. Assist Dispatch Staff with vehicle change outs that occur in the field. Assist Operators with service or passenger problems. Conduct road observations according to client and local policy. Monitor street operations for on-time performance and schedule adherence conducts proper follow up regarding schedule adherence and on time performance concerns. Provide feedback to safety and operations departments on service items that affect safety and performance, identify potential safety hazards, and provide feedback to be incorporated into daily operations procedures. Follow company safety and operational rules and procedures. Ability to work under stress and meet strict timelines. Handling Special Event management. Monitor AM and PM Pull-Outs and Pull-Ins. Conduct vehicle accident investigation. Inspect vehicles for damage and compliance with safety standards. Observes driving skills and work habits of drivers in the field. Coach employees based on onboard surveillance technology. Can be assigned to operate a vehicle in an emergency. Training Assists with Operator classroom, behind the wheel and cadet instruction as required. Conducts on-board evaluations and in service training to operators according to schedule and/or need. Conduct trail checks as required. Evaluates new operator driving skills using appropriate checklists and evaluation forms. Provides appropriate feedback to new operators. Ensures operators are fully trained prior to being released into revenue service. Serves as role model and mentor to new operators. Identifies retraining needs. Recognizes and reports safe and unsafe acts / conditions to Management. Provides feedback to Safety manager, GM, Operations Manager, and other appropriate staff regarding training needs Assists training department in identifying additional or refresher training needs based on current trends within the employee base Other duties as assigned Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Requirements
