About The Position

Bus Washer - Nantucket, MA Knowledge and Experience: Must be over 21 years of age High School diploma or equivalent 1 year or more of janitorial or auto detailing experience preferred Ability to lift 50 pounds unassisted Able to work without direct supervision Must be able to work in and outdoors in all weather conditions Must possess a valid state driver’s license with a minimum of one year of driving experience and a good driving record Must be eligible for and able to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a Passenger endorsement within 90 days of hire Flexibility in scheduling Skills: Good oral communication skills Ability to read and follow written and spoken instructions Ability to read, comprehend, and abide by Material Safety Data Sheets and all other safety training materials provided Ability to learn shop processes including fueling vehicles and cleaning vehicles Ability to mix and use a variety of cleaning products Ability to use a variety of equipment such as buffers, scrubbing machines, and other heavy cleaning equipment Strong attention to details Key Accountabilities: Thoroughly clean exterior, interiors of buses utilizing a set checklist Washes exterior of vehicles using power washer and brushes; sweeps and removes trash from vehicles Drives, maneuvers, and parks vehicles in assigned parking spaces Ability to follow instructions, attention to detail Ability to work with minimal supervision Properly use employer – provided wash equipment and maintain safe work area Ensure that all vehicles have been properly cleaned Ability to work with equipment including handheld wash tools, pressure washers Other duties as required Safety Ensure that the Road Traffic Safety Management System (RTSMS) conforms to the requirements Ensure that the RTSMS processes are delivering their intended outputs Report to management on the performance of the RTSMS and on opportunities for improvement and on the need for change or innovation Ensure the promotion of customer focus throughout the organization Ensure the integrity of the RTSMS is maintained, when any changes to RTSMS are planned and implemented Additional Statements: Drug and alcohol screening: Employment contingent upon passing pre-employment drug and alcohol screen.
