About The Position

The RN, Telemetry Supervisor provides oversight of the operations of the Central Monitoring Unit. This includes resolving concerns related to human resources, managing telemetry capacity, addressing scheduling issues, and ensuring equipment functionality. The supervisor also works closely and serves as a communication liaison with all departments that provide telemetry monitoring. Key responsibilities involve managing departmental processes to support accurate record keeping, observing telemetry monitors, and promptly identifying and escalating cardiac rhythm changes to appropriate nursing personnel. The supervisor may perform the duties of a Monitor Technician as needed and, in the absence of the manager, may assume 24-hour responsibility for the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with one (1) year of nursing experience in area of specialty.
  • Associates Degree with three (3) years’ clinical experience OR Bachelor’s in Nursing with Two (2) years’ clinical experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to set priorities and make appropriate clinical and supervisory decisions.
  • Must possess good problem solving skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
  • Certified in cardio‑pulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
  • Other certifications such as ACLS, PALS, NRP may be required based on department needs.
  • Demonstrated competency in EKG/arrhythmia interpretation.
  • Certified Rhythm Analysis Technician (CRAT) or CCT within 6 months of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • National certification in specialty area

Responsibilities
