About The Position

GENERAL SUMMARY The RN - O/P Staff Nurse plans, provides, and monitors individualized nursing care in response to specific patient needs within a defined scope of practice in either PACU/Day Surgery or the Operating Room (OR). Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient population. Reports to department management.

Requirements

• Current Virginia state license as a Registered Nurse or Registered Nurse holding a valid Compact State license.
• Associates in Nursing / Diploma in Nursing with applicable experience required.
• For OR position, recent OR experience is required.
• For PACU position, recent PACU experience is preferred.
• PALS and ACLS required within one year of hire.
• CPR Training required and/or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• BSN is preferred.
• RN certification preferred.
• Pediatric experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care.
• Plans, provides, and monitors specific patient needs following established policies, procedures, and regulations.
• Participates in on-going quality assurance, maintains regulatory requirements, and assists in establishing and updating applicable policies and procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
