Position Summary: As a Resident Care Director in a senior living community, you will play a vital role in overseeing the nursing staff and ensuring the delivery of high-quality care to elderly residents. Your primary responsibilities will include supervising and coordinating the nursing team, managing resident care plans and maintaining regulatory compliance. You will work closely with the senior living management team to provide exceptional healthcare services and promote a safe and nurturing environment for residents

Requirements

  • Successful completion of an RN Program
  • PA Licensed RN, CPR Certification, AED Certification
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 5 years of nursing experience.
  • Proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role within a skilled care, assisted living, personal care or wellness care setting.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of geriatric nursing, wellness principles, and best practices in senior care.
  • Strong understanding of relevant regulations, including state licensing requirements and industry standards for wellness programs.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with residents, families, and staff.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, make critical decisions, and handle health-related issues calmly and efficiently.
  • Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) systems and other healthcare-related software.

Responsibilities

  • Nursing Staff Supervision: · Provide guidance, support, and supervision to the nursing staff, including registered nurses (RNs), licensed practical nurses (LPNs), Medication Technicians and Care Associates. · Assign and delegate responsibilities to maintain appropriate staffing levels and ensure efficient resident care. · Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance staff performance and professional growth. · Facilitate ongoing training and development opportunities for the nursing team as well as participate in yearly Relias trainings.
  • Resident Care Management: · Collaborate with physicians, residents, and their families to develop individualized support plans that meet residents' specific needs and preferences. · Oversee the implementation and evaluation of resident support plans, ensuring regulatory adherence and making adjustments, as necessary. · Monitor resident health conditions, vital signs, and medication administration to ensure accurate treatment and timely interventions. · Respond to emergencies and critical situations, providing guidance and support to the nursing staff as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: · Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as industry standards and guidelines. · Maintain accurate and up-to-date resident records, including medical charts, assessments, and care plans. · Participate in audits and inspections, addressing any identified deficiencies and implementing corrective actions. · Stay informed about current healthcare trends, advancements, and regulatory changes specific to assisted living or personal care senior living.
  • Communication and Collaboration: · Foster effective communication and collaboration among the nursing team, interdisciplinary staff, residents, families, and external healthcare providers. · Participate in interdisciplinary meetings and contribute to care planning discussions and decision-making processes. · Serve as a resource for staff, residents, and families, addressing concerns, providing information, and promoting a positive care experience.
  • Quality Improvement: · Identify opportunities for quality improvement and implement evidence-based practices to enhance resident outcomes and satisfaction. · Monitor and analyze key performance indicators related to resident care, staff productivity, and customer service. · Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement. · Any other duties assigned by your supervisor.
