This position is eligible for a shift differential of $5/hour. Mercy Hospital's Cardiovascular Surgery Unit (CVU) provides care to post-open heart surgery patients. With their exceptional patient care, this unit has low readmission rates, low falls, and high patient satisfaction ratings. The CVU is an inclusive unit known for their integrity, empathy, and longevity. As an RN, you will deliver exceptional care, throughout the patient care journey. You will interact directly with patients and their families, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and provide healthcare education as needed. The opportunities here are endless with hands-on training days, check-ins with leadership, mentoring, and community activities. A caregiver in this position works rotating days/nights from 7:00PM - 7:30AM or 7:00AM - 7:30PM.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)
Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
One-year of current acute care RN experience. Will consider military RN experience

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care.
Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.
Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.
Educate patients and their families.
