The RN Project Coordinator functions interdependently with the physician to coordinate independent advanced assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the care of a select group of patients, in collaboration with physicians, surgeons, mid-level providers, patient/family and other ancillary departments and outside agencies. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. Requirements

  • 5 years clinical experience
  • RN (Registered Nurse)
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Oklahoma or current multistate license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) member state
  • BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).
  • ICU, ER, outpatient clinic experience, and experience in the assigned specialty
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with the physician in the assigned practice setting, attending physicians, nursing and support staff and other members of the health team.
  • Collects and evaluates data including history and physical examination, lab data, diagnostic studies, and consultations.
  • Coordinates treatment plans with the physician, patient/family.
  • Monitors, evaluates, and reports laboratory test and identifies complications and interventions related to disease process and treatment.
  • Maintains timely documentation for the patient history and physical examination including normal and abnormal findings.
  • Provides education related to disease process and discharge education to the patient and family.
  • Coordinates continued care in home, outpatient, and inpatient settings.
  • Assesses and diagnoses patient and family needs to provide quality care to assigned patients.
  • Demonstrates the skills and judgment necessary to implement medical plan of care, nursing interventions, and procedures as necessary for the care of the patient.
  • Coordinates and supports other licensed and non-licensed personnel in care of the assigned patient population.
  • Assists with nursing research and collaborative research with physician related activities, including gathering of data, analyzing results, and data input for National databases.
  • Additional specific specialty requirements may be identified by the service line.
  • Reports the assigned physician, Operations Director, Clinical Nursing Director and Assistant Vice-President Nursing Services.
