About The Position

Heartline Staffing, Strategic Talent Partners with Purple Cow Recruiting, is seeking an RN Manager of Surgical Services for a permanent leadership opportunity in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. The RN Manager of Surgical Services provides leadership and oversight for assigned inpatient surgical departments on a 24-hour basis. This role is responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of safe, high-quality patient care while maintaining compliance with clinical, administrative, legal, and regulatory standards. The Manager collaborates closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support continuity of care, quality improvement initiatives, and positive patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license for the position you are applying for.
  • Associate Degree in Nursing required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent (within the last year) acute care Operating Room (OR) leadership experience REQUIRED.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Proven leadership ability in an inpatient surgical services environment.
  • Strong interdisciplinary collaboration, quality improvement, and operational management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, accountability, and oversight for surgical patient care departments on a 24-hour basis.
  • Ensure departmental nursing practices, policies, and procedures meet all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements.
  • Direct continuity of care through effective interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Communicate patient progress and treatment plans with physicians, patients, and healthcare team members.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality improvement programs focused on patient safety, service excellence, and core measures.
  • Coordinate patient care across departments to ensure seamless hospital-wide care delivery.
  • Maintain appropriate equipment, supplies, and resources to support high-quality surgical services.
  • Participate in patient rounding and proactively address patient needs to improve outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Foster a quiet, healing, and patient-centered care environment.
