Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Education level necessary to obtainrequired licensure and certifications
  • 1 year of operating room/ surgicalexperience. If operational conditionspermit, training a candidate without therequired experience may be considered., upon hire or High School GED, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: CA, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support, upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support, upon hire

Responsibilities

  • Maintains current knowledge of all patient safety standards and National Patient Safety goals and consistently incorporates into nursing practice.
  • Able to safely administer medications and blood/blood products using the 7 (seven) rights of medication and blood administration.
  • Uses 2 (two) separate hospital approved identifiers to safely identify the patient prior to medication / blood administration.
  • Maintain a safe, therapeutic work environment at all times and identifies and addresses problems to the appropriate departments.
  • Adheres to principles of infection control, including medical and surgical asepsis and isolation techniques.
  • Demonstrates aseptic technique while conducting sterile dressing changes, urinary catheterizations, and other similar duties.
  • Receive, interpret and implement physician orders in a safe and timely manner.
  • Uses hospital approved process for telephone and / or verbal orders that include a readback of all orders.
