Position Summary: We are seeking a competent Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care in an inpatient. Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Physician, the LPN will assist with patient assessments, contribute to care planning, and evaluate care outcomes, utilizing foundational knowledge in biological, physical, behavioral, social, and nursing sciences. The RN will deliver comprehensive patient care through assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation, while prescribing, delegating, and coordinating nursing care across the health system. Both roles require effective communication and collaboration with patients, their significant others, and the healthcare team, maintaining professional nursing standards and meeting organizational requirements.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program with current Ohio licensure.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Proficiency in phlebotomy, EKG, vital signs, medication administration, and various diagnostic tests.
  • Ability to care for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients under supervision.
  • Competence in operating office systems, including EPIC and standard office equipment.
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing program with current Ohio RN licensure.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification (preferred).
  • Strong clinical skills with the ability to manage diverse patient needs.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork skills.
  • LMH is accredited by DNV and TJC, and as such, may require specific annual education related to specialty certifications and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Physicians, Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and RNs in patient assessment, planning, and evaluating care quality.
  • Provide direct technical nursing care to patients.
  • Administer medications as ordered by a licensed provider after completing the required 90-hour Pharmacology Course and National Exam.
  • Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education.
  • Report patient symptoms, reactions, and progress to the healthcare team.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and orderly environment, adhering to universal precautions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and respond to collected data results.
  • Recognize and intervene appropriately with medically unstable patients across all age groups.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately within RN scope of practice.
  • Assist with invasive and non-invasive procedures.
  • Formulate and implement nursing care plans.
  • Document and communicate patient conditions effectively.
  • Supervise and provide direction to LPNs, POCTs, and ancillary staff.
  • Monitor and ensure timely execution of physician orders.
  • Maintain knowledge of medical/surgical equipment and procedures.
  • Promote patient safety by identifying risks and adhering to fall risk protocols.
