Your Role: Responsible for delivering quality care to perinatal patients. Promotes evidence-based practices to improve patient outcomes, patient experience, and nurse satisfaction. Advances strategies that promote teamwork, communication, standardized care processes, engagement in quality improvement, and safety. Plans, directs, coordinates, and evaluates the overall clinical nursing practice and administrative activities for perinatal units by embracing innovations in technology, therapeutics, and processes to ensure the perinatal units' goals are met. Assures that the nursing care meets legal, ethical, institutional, and professional standards. Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations and The Joint Commission (TJC) standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in nursing.
  • Five (5) years of perinatal nursing experience.
  • Three (3) years of managerial experience at the unit manager or director level.
  • Licensed as a registered nurse (RN) in accordance with Florida Statutes (FS), Title XXXII (Regulation of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 464 (Nursing), Part I (Nurse Practice Act) [includes multistate compact licensure].
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in nursing.
  • Experience in budgeting, strategic planning, shared governance, and quality improvement.
  • Strong knowledge of nursing and administrative practice standards.
  • Specialty credential (e.g., Registered Nurse, Certified in Maternal Newborn Nursing (RNCMNN) or Registered Nurse, Certified in Inpatient Obstetrics (RNC-OB)) or nursing administration credential (e.g., Certified Nurse Manager and Leader (CNML) or Nurse Executive/Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified (NE/NEA-BC)).
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
