About The Position

The RN Cardiac Stress Testing FT role is pivotal in providing comprehensive cardiovascular diagnostic services to patients. This position involves conducting and monitoring cardiac stress tests to evaluate heart function under physical stress, ensuring accurate data collection for physician interpretation. The nurse will play a critical role in patient preparation, education, and safety throughout the testing process, managing any adverse reactions promptly and effectively. Collaboration with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals is essential to deliver high-quality patient care and support clinical decision-making. Requirements

  • Current and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiac care, telemetry, or a critical care environment.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Experience in cardiac care or telemetry nursing, including familiarity with cardiac monitoring equipment.
  • Strong background in patient education and counseling related to cardiovascular health.
  • Knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and common cardiovascular conditions.
  • Ability to perform and interpret basic cardiac rhythms and recognize arrhythmias.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Cardiac Stress Testing or related cardiovascular nursing specialty.
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary cardiology team environment.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for cardiac stress testing by explaining procedures and answering questions to ensure comfort and understanding.
  • Administer and monitor exercise or pharmacologic stress tests while continuously assessing patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms.
  • Operate and maintain cardiac monitoring equipment, ensuring accurate data collection and troubleshooting technical issues as needed.
  • Respond promptly to any patient emergencies or adverse reactions during testing, following established protocols to ensure patient safety.
  • Document all test procedures, patient responses, and clinical observations accurately in medical records for physician review.
  • Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare team members to discuss test results and assist in planning further diagnostic or treatment steps.
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory standards and institutional policies related to cardiac stress testing and patient care.
