YOU ARE an essential team member charged with assisting patients in managing their care at Kaniksu Community Health.

Requirements

  • Associate’s Degree in health sciences, business, health information technology, or equivalent related work experience preferred
  • 2+ years of related work experience in a clinical practice or ambulatory care setting required; experience supporting quality improvement or risk management activities in a healthcare organization preferred.
  • Experience assisting with group facilitation, team support, or collaborative work.
  • Demonstrated ability to use word processing, spreadsheet (Excel), NextGen and/or Athena, and database software to support data collection and reporting.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective, courteous working relationships with patients, staff, and leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and assist with problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented, motivated, and able to think critically and creatively in a support role.
  • Demonstrated commitment to KCH’s mission, values, and culture of safety.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting with identifying, planning, organizing, monitoring, supporting & documenting compliance with Risk Management and Safety protocols and procedures.
  • Supporting the coordination of the KCH Emergency and Disaster Program.
  • Assisting in tracking and supporting compliance with standards for all required regulatory compliance agencies including documentation and record maintenance.
  • Working collaboratively with the leadership team to support appropriate medical record storage, scanning, e-filing, retention, and destruction in compliance with HIPAA and regulatory requirements.
  • Supporting efforts to promote and reinforce an organizational culture of safety that is just, fair, and non-punitive, aligning with the core value that “safety is everyone’s responsibility.”
  • Assisting with data collection, measurement, and documentation of quality improvement initiatives and outcomes.
  • Providing administrative and coordination support to PCMH teams and KCH management to promote effective teamwork, communication, and use of resources.
  • Maintaining and distributing records of quality improvement and risk management activities as directed.
  • Producing accurate, thorough work with attention to detail and adherence to quality standards.
  • Managing assigned workload and priorities, meets deadlines, and supports project and meeting coordination.
  • Maintaining strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assisting with communication and follow-up activities related to performance improvement and benchmark tracking.
  • Supporting policy adherence by assisting with implementation and documentation of policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrating initiative by identifying opportunities to improve workflows, efficiency, and processes related to Risk Management and Safety.
  • Providing timely professional support to internal and external customers and contributes positively to team-based projects.
  • Ensuring daily actions and communication align with and support the organization’s mission and values.
  • Responsible for relating well to people from diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds and for having empathy for patients with demonstrated ability to treat them with dignity and respect.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned or mutually agreed upon.
