About The Position

The Risk & Safety Leader is a client-facing role within C3’s Risk Services team, responsible for delivering comprehensive safety, loss control, and regulatory compliance support to our commercial clients. This blended position combines field-level safety activities, risk assessment, training, incident investigation, and strategic advisory functions to help reduce client risk exposures, improve claim outcomes, and strengthen overall workplace safety performance. The role supports both tactical safety needs and higher-level risk management initiatives, working closely with Producers, Client Managers, Claims Advocates, and Client Services leadership.

Requirements

  • A professional with a bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
  • Experienced in safety management, construction, or industrial environments, with 5-7 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation processes, and risk management principles.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel for safety data analysis and reporting.
  • An excellent communicator with strong interpersonal skills, capable of training and engaging employees at all levels.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to fostering a culture of safety aligned with C3 Client Services.
  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple internal departments and external clients.
  • You must be able to use a keyboard and other office equipment.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is a requirement for this position.

Nice To Haves

  • Construction experience is a plus.
  • Experience with electrical safety regulations, including NFPA 70E and NEC compliance, is highly desirable.
  • Certified with OSHA 30 or 500; Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or similar certification preferred but not required.
  • CHST (Construction Health/Safety Technician) Certification or equivalent preferred
  • Ergonomics Assessment Certification preferred
  • CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver safety training, including orientations, toolbox talks, and topic-specific sessions.
  • Create training materials such as PowerPoints, SOPs, and tailgate content.
  • Support clients in managing training assignments and tracking through platforms such as Zywave Learning.
  • Conduct safety and risk assessments at client locations across various industries.
  • Perform site walkthroughs to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
  • Review client loss runs and claims data to identify trends and risk drivers.
  • Advise clients on OSHA/Cal-OSHA standards and industry-specific compliance requirements.
  • Assist clients with regulatory readiness, citation response, and abatement processes.
  • Stay informed on evolving safety regulations and communicate updates to clients and internal teams.
  • Lead or support incident investigations and root-cause analyses.
  • Document findings, corrective actions, and follow-up activities.
  • Partner with internal Claims to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
  • Assist clients in the development, implementation and coordination of safety training programs. This may include employee orientations, specific program trainings, weekly safety meetings, supervisor training, and hazard awareness training.
  • Track safety metrics and performance indicators to measure program effectiveness.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for continual improvement in client programs.
  • Serve as a safety and risk advisor to clients, supporting Producers, Client Managers, and carrier partners.
  • Participate in stewardship meetings, renewal preparation, and underwriting support activities.
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of all services within the agency management system.
  • Represent C3 professionally with clients, carriers, regulators, and internal teams.
  • Attend meetings, conferences, and continuing education events.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Risk Services leadership.
  • Travel locally to client sites as required.
