About The Position

The State Corporation Commission (SCC or Commission) seeks a leader to oversee and manage the agencys risk management, compliance and internal control program. Reporting to the SCCs Chief Administrative Officer, the selected candidate for this position will manage enterprise risk management, compliance oversight and assurance and auditing to ensure control measures are effective.

Responsibilities

Leading the implementation of Enterprise Risk Management frameworks
Conducting risk assessments and developing strategies to mitigate risks
Managing IT audits and developing a strategic plan
Partnering with leaders to develop an enterprise strategic plan
Guiding the implementation of internal controls and procedures based on changing statutes, regulations or policies
Managing the agencys ARMICS program
Developing a comprehensive audit program to ensure controls are effective
Providing SCC staff with education
Analyzing and reporting on risks, compliance issues and opportunities by offering advice and strategies for resolution
Leading, coaching and developing professional staff
Proactively monitoring ARMICS, Sarbanes-Oxley and other audit and internal control legislation at both the state and federal level to ensure compliance and implementing best practices and modifications
Reviewing and approving all audit reports of accounting, financial and other operations to verify compliance
Investigating any whistle blower complaints, suspicious activity or compliance issues and recommending corrective action as needed
Performing related work as assigned
