By joining our District 10 (D10) Project Development Branch in the Right of Way Section as a Right of Way Agent I in Breathitt County, you’ll have the opportunity to work with the right of way agents in D10 and will perform acquisitions, property valuations and appraisals, relocation or property management, and other duties as assigned. Holders of the Right of Way Agent I position will complete tasks such as:

Requirements

  • Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, or related field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license to qualify for employment in this job classification.
  • Within six (6) months of employment, shall provide the hiring agency documentation that employee is a Notary Public properly commissioned and bonded in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.
  • Must maintain any required licensure(s), certification(s), or other credentials for the length of employment in this classification. Employing agency is responsible for ensuring employee possess and maintains required licensure(s), certification(s) or other credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Write appraisals.
  • Assist with researching records for various items such as title abstraction, liens, etc.
  • Assist relocation agents in carrying out the Relocation Assistance Program
  • Perform cost estimates.
  • Negotiate with property owners.
