About The Position

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP). DPHHS is seeking 5 programs managers to lead each of the five initiative areas and assist the Program Director in managing the RHTP for Montana; responsible for daily coordination of project activities, timelines, and deliverables; ensure effective implementation of approved initiatives under CMS requirements; support communication with CMS, state partners, partner agencies, and local stakeholders. ; oversee assigned staff and contractors; track milestones; prepare progress reports; support budget execution and compliance with cooperative agreement terms; assist in evaluation of program activities; contribute to meeting all program objectives; lead additional application processes and reviews for funding utilization. The 5 Initiatives: · Build and retain a strong health workforce. · Ensure rural facility sustainability and access through partnerships and restructuring. · Launch innovative care delivery and payment models. · Invest in community health and preventative infrastructure. · Deploy modern health care technologies to guide rural interventions. Requirements

  • Knowledge of project management principles, grant administration, and federally funded program operations.
  • Strong understanding of CMS regulations, cooperative agreement requirements and rural health system challenges
  • Ability to analyze statutes, regulations, technical guidance, and program policy.
  • Skilled in collaboration, negotiation, conflict resolution, and relationship building.
  • Meet minimum qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in a field of study related to health administration, public health, or public administration.
  • 4 years of experience in project or program management in healthcare or government setting.

  • Knowledge of rural health systems preferred.
