Become a part of the “strength within.” Hexcel is looking for a Rework & Repair Technician for their Kent, WA location. Summary pay range: $ 32.35 – $38.06 hourly wage rate. Hexcel is looking for a Rework & Repair Technician for their Kent, WA location. The Rework & Repair Technician will be responsible for a variety of composite part repairs per engineering disposition and customer repair specifications as well as providing training and guidance to Rework & Repair Operators.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in lamination, assembly, and/or equivalent certification from an approved Hexcel program.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Rework and Repair Operation.
  • Experience with processing tags.
  • Must be able to work around dust, chemicals, prepregs or adhesives, sealants, paints and cleaners on a regular basis.
  • Have a history of strong performance: no suspension-level discipline within the last 12 months, proven ability to work with minimal supervision, and have a positive attitude about safety.
  • Excellent attendance record; applicant cannot have more than three (3) infractions.
  • Experience reading, interpreting, and following work instructions, procedures, contracts, drawings, and specifications.
  • Must be able to use Microsoft Outlook email.
  • Strong reading and analytical skills.

  • Eligible candidates must be a: U.S. citizen, U.S. national, person lawfully admitted for permanent residence, temporary resident under sections 210(a) or 245(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, person admitted in refugee status, or person granted asylum.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, process and material specifications, manufacturing planning, rejection tag discrepancies and engineering dispositions.
  • Perform a variety of tasks associated with repairing composites.
  • Follow oral and written instructions and write/record processes as required.
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures.
  • Have an understanding of prepreg materials and their working practices including use of MATRAC systems.
  • Be able to properly step back plies for standard structural composite repair.
  • Have a basic understanding of core types, ribbon directions.
  • Have basic understanding of autoclave and oven cure processes and procedures.
  • Understand the operation of hot bond machine to achieve desired cure per process specifications and MRB disposition.
  • Use pneumatic tools (sanders, grinder, air 90, drill, router, etc.)
