About The Position

TSC is seeking an Electronic Technician speacialist in Rework and Repair in Huntsville, Al. This position supports the Radar & Precision Weapons Development (RPWD) Operation. TSC Radar & Precision Weapons Development (RPWD) Operation Highlights: TSC’s Systems Radar & Precision Weapons Development (RPWD) Operation provides products and services in the areas of radar, communication systems, sensors, antennas and other electronics systems to the missile, radar/sensor system, communications, control systems, data acquisition, and signal processing markets. The company has developed products ranging from chip-level, application-specific, integrated circuits (ASIC) to complete, turnkey radar and communication systems. TSC has established a state-of-the-art hardware capability that is well respected by customers in Government and Industry. TSC also provides full spectrum systems engineering support including theoretical analysis, requirements generation, interface control, and test planning/execution/data analysis. Job Description: TSC’s Systems Development and Production Division in Huntsville, AL is currently looking to hire an Electronics Technician with an educational and/or industry focus in Cable Harness assembly, Hand soldering/rework of PWB boards, inspection to industry standards for cable assemblies and PWA’s.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience in cable assembly
  • Experienced in assembling electronics equipment and circuit cards per manufacturing drawings, tests and repairs of electronic systems and components
  • Ability to apply knowledge of cable assembly principals and standards in developing reliable hardware.
  • Possess an educational background or commensurate industry experience in one (or more) of the following areas: Cable assembly (Soldering, Crimping Rework and Repair, Inspection) Documentation of electronics systems Cable assembly equipment (Hand crimp tools, connector assembly tooling, Wire testers)
  • Must be self-motivated, free-thinking individual capable of technical discussion, complex problem solving and scrutinizing prior assumptions.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD Clearance.
  • U.S. Citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with various styles of cable assemblies and assembly techniques; such as ability to work with shielded wire and shielded wire terminations, wire splicing, solder sleeves, various styles of heat shrink and silicon tape.
  • Extensive knowledge with D38999 series connectors and back shells, Glenair, Molex, and Samtex connectors.
  • Knowledgeable with Coaxial cable and Coaxial connector assembly.
  • IPC Certifications as IPC Specialist (CIS) or IPC Trainer (CIT) for IPC-610, IPC-620, IPC-7711/7721, J-STD-001
  • Experience within an ISO or AS9100 fabrication environment
  • U.S. Citizenship Required

Responsibilities

  • Cable assembly including solder and crimp style connectors
  • Inspection and rework/repair of cable assemblies
  • Plans and performs work requiring a knowledge of electronic and mechanical established assembly standards and quality processes
  • Ability to hand solder to industry standard
  • Ability to inspect and or rework PWA’s and cable assemblies.
  • Integrates electronics assemblies by manufacturing drawings
  • Maintaining documentation in accordance with quality procedures
