About The Position

The Revenue Services Manager is responsible for the functional operation of the Company’s Billing, Collections, and Accounts Receivable Department, or collectively, Revenue Services. The Revenue Services Manager also provides support for the development and maintenance of tariff rate structures and the Company’s Terms and Conditions as filed with the Maine Public Utilities Commission. The Revenue Services Manager also supports the client relationships and billing for non-regulated revenue agreements. In addition the Revenue Services Manager will work directly with the H2O America communications team to drive our customer communications focus and execution in support of our strategic plan. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or 10 plus years of experience in Utility billing, rates or CS.
  • Five years’ supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of utility billing systems and overall knowledge of ERP (spell out Enterprise Resource Planning) Applications, including customer service and collection functions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides overall direction, coordination, support, and evaluation of staff, including hiring, training, and PMP reviews.
  • Coordinates and directs the operation and activities for billing and A/R, including regulated and non-regulated billing and payments.
  • Oversees the collection activity and establishes policies and procedures to promote timely collections of overdue accounts.
  • Implements new and enhanced applications to ensure further functionality in the billing, payment, collection, and A/R area.
  • Provides support and technical assistance to resolve billing inquiries, problems, or discrepancies related to customers’ accounts.
  • Prepares expense budget, statistical data to assist in rate design, and other reports to reconcile the G/L to the billing and A/R applications.
  • Maintains Sarbanes-Oxley compliance logs/documents that provide evidence of department compliance with system policies and procedures. Develops policies and procedures as required.
  • Project Manager for the integration of newly acquired companies or managed companies for the conversion of customer information, rates, Billing/Payment process, A/R and Collection process. Identify procedural differences and develop solutions for implementation.
  • Project Manager for the preparation of Bill Analysis and Consumption reports, including reconciliation and other supporting documents. Lead Revenue Services Rate Case Team on all matters before the MPUC and for the transfer of knowledge.
  • Provide transfer of knowledge for the Budget preparation and quarterly explanations, Vendor Approval of Invoices, A/R Trial Balance Review and Statistical Reports, Sarbanes-Oxley and Internal Control Reports including requests from Auditors and Year End Compliance Reports for MPUC Annual Report, 10K & 10Q to the Revenue Services & Customer Service Departments.
  • Work with the H2O America communications team to develop communication themes in alignment with our strategic plan. In coordination with the H2O America communication team deliver message through the proper channel.
  • Develop relationships with communities that we serve to develop and perform community outreach events.
  • Performs other duties or special projects as required or as assigned.
