POSITION: Revenue Cycle Specialist II Job purpose: This position is responsible for benefits verification, explanation of benefits, collection, denial resolution and posting accounts to minimize aged receivables. This position also administers coverage plan setups, write offs, 270/271 process, and provides technical assistance to staff. This is a lead position for all commercial, Medicare and Medicaid billing.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in accounting or business-related field preferred; or High School Diploma with four (4) years’ experience required, preferably in health care accounts receivable setting.
  • Must have ability to identify problems and provide suggestions for problem resolution in order to improve processes and/or work flow.
  • Must have good understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Basic knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, DSM, with basic charge and payment posting systems.
  • Working knowledge of Windows based computer applications to include Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and Internet access.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax and multi-line telephone.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external customers.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
