Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week during designated work hours. Position Overview This role provides direct support to plan participants—employees of Paylocity clients—regarding their retirement accounts. The Participant Services Specialist assists with inquiries related to contributions, vesting schedules, loans, distributions, and account access. This role ensures participants receive accurate and timely information while maintaining compliance with plan rules and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in customer service or client interfacing role, preferably in retirement or financial service
  • Familiarity with 401 (k) plan operations and payroll systems. QKA designation preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain processes and instructions clearly.
  • Ability to manage a high volume of inbound inquiries while prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Dependability in meeting service-level expectations and turnaround times.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with 401 (k) plan operations and payroll systems. QKA designation preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to participant inquiries regarding account balances, contributions, loans, and distributions.
  • Assist participants with questions regarding accessing online portals and understanding plan features.
  • Coordinate with recordkeeping partners to resolve participant-level issues.
  • Educate participants on retirement plan basics, including eligibility, vesting, and investment options.
  • Document interactions and escalate complex issues to Tier 2 support or external partners.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve participant issues related to system errors, incorrect data, etc.
  • Protect participant confidentiality and maintain high standards of data integrity.
