As a Retirement Plan Account Manager, you will oversee total client relationships for assigned retirement plan clients. This role requires deep technical expertise in retirement plans, proven ability to manage complex client relationships independently, and growing business development capabilities. The Account Manager demonstrates full competency in fiduciary consulting, plan design, and investment advisory while building expertise in strategic relationship management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required in business, finance, or related field preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in retirement plan advisory and fiduciary consulting or plan administration and recordkeeping preferred
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or relevant work experience may be substituted in lieu of minimum qualifications
  • Series 65, ability to obtain, required; if associated with Broker-Dealer: SIE, Series 7, and Series 66
  • Retirement plan industry product and services technical know-how and broad understanding of all aspects
  • In-depth understanding of retirement plan industry and services
  • Proven ability to manage complex client relationships independently with high satisfaction
  • Demonstrated expertise in investment due diligence, plan administration and fiduciary governance
  • Growing awareness of broader business, financials, products/services, and market dynamics
  • Strong consultative and relationship management skills
  • Ability to act autonomously on most decisions with guidance needed only on most complex judgments
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities

Nice To Haves

  • AIF (Accredited Investment Fiduciary) designation preferred
  • Additional credentials such as CPFA, QKA, or CFA valued

Responsibilities

  • Oversee total client relationship for assigned retirement plan clients with full accountability
  • Proactively schedule and deliver comprehensive client review meetings including investment reviews, benchmarking, and strategic planning
  • Act as primary liaison between clients and all service providers/vendors, ensuring seamless coordination
  • Advise clients on plan design enhancements, fee benchmarking, investment menu optimization, and fiduciary governance
  • Lead discussions with plan committees on fiduciary responsibilities, regulatory compliance, and plan best practices
  • Conduct investment due diligence and present recommendations on fund selection, manager changes, and custom solutions
  • Monitor plan health metrics and proactively recommend interventions to improve participant outcomes
  • Collaborate with client service teams, education specialists, and investment analysts to deliver integrated solutions
  • Ensure all advice and recommendations comply with fiduciary standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support business development through COI relationships, client referrals, and finalist presentations
  • Stay current on industry trends, legislative changes, and emerging best practices in retirement plan consulting
  • Other duties may be assigned
