Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Successful completion of the in‑house Pharmacy Support Assistant entry‑level training program
  • Ability to speak, read, and understand Basic English
  • No prior pharmacy or healthcare experience required

  • Customer service, cashier, retail, or clerical experience preferred but not required

Responsibilities

  • Perform cash handling responsibilities, including daily opening and closing clerical procedures
  • Complete pharmacy and over‑the-counter (OTC) sales while delivering exceptional customer service
  • Bag, file, and organize completed prescriptions for patient pickup
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of dispensing and point‑of-sale (POS) systems
  • Deliver medications to pharmacy locker systems and directly to patients participating in the Meds to Beds program
  • Coordinate medication delivery and payment methods for Meds to Beds patients
  • Answer phones and appropriately route calls based on patient, provider, or internal needs
  • Contact patients or prescribers to resolve outstanding prescription issues
  • Perform prescription pickup reminder calls and complete return‑to-stock for aged prescriptions
  • Assist with receiving, stocking, and organizing medication, supply, and OTC orders
  • Manage supply inventory, submit replenishment orders, and monitor for outdated products
  • Perform daily cycle counts and other inventory‑related tasks
  • Maintain files and follow procedures for historical prescription storage
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy leadership
  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of outpatient pharmacy workflows and processes
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance in accordance with Orlando Health policies and applicable regulations
  • Establish and maintain respectful, professional communication with patients, families, visitors, physicians, and team members
  • Meet productivity and volume standards established for daily assignments
  • Maintain compliance with all Orlando Health policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
