About The Position

Sodexo’s Campus Segment is seeking an experienced Retail Manager 3 to join our team at the Colorado School of Mines, located in the heart of beautiful Golden, Colorado. In this high-impact leadership role, you will play a key part in expanding our on-campus retail footprint and elevating the student, faculty, and guest experience across multiple locations. As the Retail Manager 3, you will oversee a dynamic portfolio of established retail concepts while also leading the launch of two brand-new locations on campus. This position requires a strategic, hands-on operator who excels in service excellence, team development, financial performance, and operational execution. You will collaborate closely with campus partners and internal teams to build an engaging, efficient, and high-performing retail environment that reflects Sodexo’s commitment to quality and innovation.

Requirements

  • A hands-on, people-centered leadership style with the ability to motivate and develop diverse teams.
  • Proven success in fast-paced, high-volume retail or hospitality environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance daily execution, long-term planning, and team development.
  • A commitment to delivering exceptional service and building a welcoming environment for students, faculty, and guests.
  • Financial acumen, including experience with budgeting, cost controls, and inventory management.
  • Adaptability, initiative, and a drive for continuous improvement.
  • Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
  • Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations

Responsibilities

  • Lead the opening, operations, and growth of two new campus retail locations, in addition to managing existing concepts.
  • Oversee, coach, and develop a team of approximately 30 hourly associates, fostering a positive, service-driven culture.
  • Ensure a best-in-class guest experience with a strong, consistent focus on customer service and hospitality.
  • Drive operational excellence through effective budgeting, cost control, inventory management, scheduling, and P&L oversight.
  • Implement training, coaching, and performance development programs to support team success and operational consistency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners to maintain brand standards, support marketing initiatives, and drive sales growth.
