About The Position

Sodexo is seeking a Retail Manager 2 to support retail food service operations at UMass Health in Worcester, Massachusetts. This role provides hands‑on leadership for high‑volume retail dining venues, ensuring exceptional customer service, financial performance, and compliance with food safety and Sodexo standards. The Retail Manager 2 will lead frontline teams, drive operational excellence, and partner closely with site leadership to deliver a positive patient, visitor, and staff dining experience.

Requirements

Experience managing retail or food service operations in a high‑volume environment
Strong leadership and employee engagement skills with a hands‑on management style
Knowledge of cash management, inventory control, and retail financials
Commitment to food safety, sanitation, and customer service excellence
Ability to work flexible schedules, including some weekends or holidays as business needs require
Minimum Education Requirement - High School Diploma or GED or Equivalent
Minimum Management Experience - 1 year

Responsibilities

Lead the daily execution of retail food service operations, including cafés, coffee concepts, and grab‑and‑go locations
Supervise, train, and engage frontline hourly employees to ensure high standards of service and food quality
Manage cash handling, point‑of‑sale systems, and retail controls in accordance with Sodexo policies
Oversee inventory management, ordering, merchandising, and cost controls to meet financial targets
Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and regulatory requirements
Partner with site leadership to improve customer satisfaction and retail performance metrics
