About The Position

Join our Team, Be the Difference! Youth Homes is seeking a dynamic, community-minded individual to join our retail team at the Youth Homes Thrift Shop. The Retail Keyholder - Corporate & Community Lead, Social Media Support (CCL-SMS) plays a vital role in creating an exceptional experience for customers, donors, community partners, and volunteers. This position blends customer service excellence with hands-on leadership. Specifically: Delivers warm, knowledgeable, and efficient service to everyone who interacts with the shop. Provides day-to-day guidance and mentorship to retail staff and volunteers. Supports corporate and community volunteer days, including coordinating donation drives, unloading trailers, and ensuring efficient processing of goods. Troubleshoots point-of-sale and basic IT issues to keep operations running smoothly. Professionally resolves customer concerns with empathy and sound judgment. Serve as an outward-facing, community-focused member of the team, contributing to smooth front- and back-of-house operations and supporting community engagement and social media efforts. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, enjoys working with people, and is energized by meaningful community impact. The starting pay for this part-time, non-exempt position is $ 22.00 - $ 25.00 per hour depending on experience. Position is eligible for limited/prorated benefits. Additionally: Work shifts are 22 – 27 hours per week including regular weekend and evening hours. Must possess flexibility to fill in for the Shop Manager as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of three years’ experience in retail management.
  • Experience in organizing community groups and events.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multitasking environment while managing multiple responsibilities at once.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to think quickly and solution orientated.
  • Proficient with POS systems and capable of troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Excellent customer skills with a friendly and positive attitude.
  • Passion for working in secondhand retail.
