About The Position

The Retail Field Trainer is responsible for driving TCL product knowledge, technical expertise, sales proficiency, and customer engagement across an assigned district by onboarding, certifying, and continuously developing Market Development Managers (MDMs) and supporting Vendor Provided Labor (VPLs). This role combines strong retail training expertise and hands-on field experience to deliver structured, engaging, and industry-leading training programs that elevate performance, provide actionable competitive insights, and strengthen TCL's retail presence. As a key representative of TCL at regional and national events, the Retail Field Trainer helps accelerate sellout performance while operating remotely with a high degree of adaptability, self-direction, and cross-functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Education, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years in retail training, field sales coaching, or related consumer electronics experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver engaging training in virtual and in-person formats.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to travel extensively (up to 70%) for field coaching, onboarding, and training event support.

Nice To Haves

  • Strong knowledge of TV and audio technologies; familiarity with mobile, home comfort, and smart home products is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive training on TCL products, sales techniques, retailer programs, and competitive positioning for all MDMs in the district.
  • Execute a structured 3-month onboarding plan for new MDMs with clear milestones and competency checks.
  • Conduct certification sessions (in-person and virtual) using standardized scripts and tools (PPT/tablet-based courses).
  • Track training effectiveness through quizzes and pre-/post-sales performance analysis; update content based on findings.
  • Conduct in-person visits and bi-weekly one-on-one calls with each MDM to assess knowledge gaps and provide targeted coaching.
  • Lead strategic store-level and market-level training sessions to address performance gaps and support new hires.
  • Collaborate with the Training Program Manager and Product Evangelist to pilot and scale methods that improve certification rates and sellout KPIs.
  • Lead all regional and national trainings within the assigned district, with structured agendas and follow-up actions.
  • Support national TCL trainings and events as part of the training team (planning, content, and execution).
  • Serve as lead presenter for classroom-style sessions and trade show presentations/events.
  • Manage 25-30 assigned local stores in your home market to exceed sellout KPI performance and validate training in live retail environments.
  • Design and run test-and-learn pilots for new training programs; report outcomes and provide recommendations for broader implementation.
  • Collect structured competitive intelligence (messaging, merchandising, demonstration tactics) and translate insights into updated scripts and sales tools.
  • Maintain regular contact with local store leadership to monitor execution, resolve issues, and influence results through coaching and follow-through.
  • Provide regular updates on district training progress, including onboarding schedules and tracking.
  • Submit weekly market visit recaps with findings, corrective actions, and follow-up timelines.
  • Maintain certification scores and quiz results; identify trends and remediation plans.
  • Analyze training impact on sales performance and recommend data-backed improvements.
