The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. This individual is responsible for building and repairing bicycles according to established procedures. The role involves leveraging personal experiences and industry knowledge to provide strong product recommendations that align with customer needs. Key aspects include creating a world-class customer experience through passionate customer service and sales engagement, particularly within the Bike Department. The technician is also expected to uphold company standards for merchandise presentation, demonstrate product knowledge, promote company programs such as warranty sales, the Scorecard loyalty program, private-label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions. Achieving sales goals for bikes and related merchandise is a core responsibility. Additionally, the role includes assisting with the assembly of exercise equipment, maintaining department presentation standards and signage, adhering to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures, maintaining confidentiality of company information, and supporting the team across the store, performing other tasks as assigned by management.
