Retail Bike Technician
About The Position
The Bike Technician is a technically focused role centered around providing a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists. This individual is responsible for building and repairing bicycles according to established procedures and will use personal experiences and industry research to provide strong product recommendations. The role involves creating a world-class customer experience through passionate customer service and engagement, particularly within the Bike Department. Key aspects include upholding company standards for merchandise presentation, demonstrating passion and knowledge in sports, and promoting company programs such as warranty sales, loyalty programs, and private-label credit cards. The technician is also expected to achieve sales goals for bikes and related merchandise.
Requirements
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull and lift 15 to 35 lbs. items occasionally (up to 5 times per hour)
- Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking

Responsibilities
- Provide a differentiated customer experience specifically to cyclists
- Build and repair bicycles in accordance with established procedures
- Pull from personal experiences and industry research and trends to provide strong product recommendations that align to the customer’s needs
- Create a world-class customer experience by providing passionate customer service and selling through customer engagement, specifically (but not limited to) our Bike Department
- Uphold company standards for merchandise presentation
- Demonstrate ability to genuinely interact with customers to show passion, knowledge, dedication, and commitment in their sport or activity
- Promote company programs including warranty sales, Scorecard (loyalty program), private-label credit cards, and other seasonal promotions
- Achieve sales goals through selling bikes and related merchandise
- Assist with the assembly of exercise equipment as needed
- Maintains merchandise presentation standards and signage of Bike Department to Company standards as directed
- Adheres to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention and standard operating procedures
- Maintains confidentiality of all Company information
- Takes an all-hands-on-deck approach to support the team across the store
- Performs other tasks as assigned by management
