Requirements

  • Intermediate Excel skills

  • Graduate level student (preferred level of education)
  • Majoring in Accounting, Finance, or Criminal Justice
  • Foundational accounting and audit knowledge
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools such as Alteryx or Power BI
  • Knowledge of fraud indicators, investigative processes, or prior exposure to internal investigations
  • Ability to quickly learn and contribute to new projects
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Strong initiative and curiosity in risk management, controls, or compliance work

Responsibilities

  • Conducting store compliance audits across operational areas
  • Assisting with internal investigations involving fraud, theft, and policy violations
  • Supporting data analytics and continuous monitoring activities
  • Preparing written reports and executive level summaries
  • Participating in process improvement and control design initiatives
  • Supporting fieldwork, including travel
  • Contributing to a capstone project aligned with compliance, audit, or investigative work
  • Completing additional compliance, audit, or risk related projects as assigned

  • This is an hourly non-exempt role. The starting pay range for this role and market is between [$19 pay rate – $22 pay rate]/hour. This rate is based on the intern's current year in their respective university programs. Graduate students may receive a higher rate of pay based on their year in school. Employees in this role are also eligible to earn overtime when they work more than 40 hours in a week (or as otherwise required by state law).
