About The Position

Pelican Grand Beach Resort, part of Noble House Hotels & Resorts, seeks a dynamic Cook to be responsible for preparing and cooking food items according to established recipes, ensuring proper food handling and sanitation practices, prepping ingredients, maintaining a clean workstation, and collaborating with other kitchen staff to efficiently produce high-quality meals for customers; following all health and safety guidelines while adhering to menu specifications. The resort is a 4-diamond, 156-room luxury beach resort located directly on the Atlantic Ocean in Fort Lauderdale Beach, Florida, boasting breathtaking views and a sense of old Florida grandeur, featuring 3 outlets, a lazy river, and beachfront access. Requirements

• Must have prior culinary experience in a restaurant
• Must be flexible with days/hours/holidays
• Be able to work well independently as well as with a team
• Must be able to stand for long durations
• Must be able to handle knives and other kitchen equipment
• Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
• Must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
• Requires good communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to read recipes and follow their instructions
• Must be able to pass a background check
• Must be legally allowed to work in the United States

Responsibilities

• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies
• Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
• Follow Executive or Sous Chef’s instructions
• Clean up station and take care of leftover food
• Stock inventory appropriately
• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers
